Hours and Admission Fees

McDougall Cottage Historic Site is pleased to re-open every other weekend in October! For the safety of our visitors and staff, physical distancing and other COVID-19 related safety measures (including masks) will be in place.

McDougall Cottage Historic Site will be open noon to 4 p.m. on these weekends:

  • October 3 and 4
  • October 17 and 18
  • October 31 and November 1

Visitors can see our newly revealed 100 year old murals, visit our HerStory - A Womans's Life, 1850 to 1900 exhibit and purchase a Goodies-to-Go package to enjoy either at home, or during a fall stroll. The cost of the Goodies-to-Go packages is $10 + HST. The package includes one hot beverage (your choice of Monigrams Coffee or Squirrel Duck Tea), a featured baked good from a local business and a home-made treat from the Cottage. Goodies-to-Go packages include The Red Eye Café (apple fritter October 3 and 4) and The Rising Dough Bakery (scone October 17 and 18). The Goodies-to-Go package for October 31 to November 1 will be announced soon.

Note Regional Council has passed a Face Covering Bylaw that makes it mandatory for residents to wear face coverings in enclosed public places. Please plan to wear a mask when visiting McDougall Cottage Historic Site. The by-law exempts children under the age of five and those who are unable to wear a face covering (due to a medical condition, disability, etc.).
